Tarumizu Senbon Ginkgo Garden is a vast park in Tarumizu City, Kagoshima Prefecture, featuring approximately 1,200 ginkgo trees. Since 1978, Mr. and Mrs. Nakama, the owners, have painstakingly cultivated this “golden paradise” over 40 years, transforming a neglected mountainside through their collaborative efforts. In late autumn, the ginkgo leaves turn a brilliant golden hue, creating a stunning landscape that captivates many visitors. The scene is so beautiful it's like something out of a movie. Within the garden, a 128-step staircase leads to the "Healing Hill," offering panoramic views of Tarumizu City. Two benches are situated here, providing a perfect spot for families, couples, or friends to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery below. This is truly a space of healing, imbued with the love and dedication of Mr. and Mrs. Nakama. Admission to Tarumizu Senbon Ginkgo Garden is free, and ample parking is available, making it easily accessible by car.
