The Saga Balloon Museum, located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, is Japan's first permanent museum dedicated to hot air balloons. The annual "Saga International Balloon Fiesta," held every autumn, is world-renowned—a massive event featuring over 100 balloons and attracting over 800,000 spectators. However, balloons are at the mercy of the wind; even during the festival, flights can be cancelled due to weather. And of course, balloons aren't flying in Saga skies year-round. That's why the Saga Balloon Museum opened in October 2016: a place to experience the magic of ballooning regardless of the weather.
The Saga Balloon Museum offers a wide range of exhibits showcasing the history, mechanics, and competitions of hot air ballooning. There's a flight simulator for an immersive experience, interactive learning corners, and much more—fun for all ages! The museum shop also offers balloon-related goods and Saga's local specialties.
Located in Saga City, the heart of the Saga International Balloon Fiesta, the Saga Balloon Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in hot air balloons, or simply looking for a unique and memorable experience.
