Iwojima Island is an island located in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It has a circumference of 7.1km and an area of 1.24㎢. Locally, it's often referred to together with the adjacent Okinojima Island. Situated about 10km southwest of Nagasaki Port's Ohatobi Pier, its closest point to the mainland is approximately 600m from Tatsu no Kuchi in Kayaki Island. Once a thriving coal mining island, Iwojima is now a popular resort island with beaches and hotels.
