Overview

Konpira-gu Shrine, located in Kotohira-cho, Kagawa Prefecture, is affectionately known as "Konpirasan." It is dedicated to Konpira-O-kami, the deity of the sea, and has long been worshipped for ensuring safe voyages, bountiful catches, business prosperity, warding off evil, and healing illnesses. It's also one of the temples on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, attracting numerous visitors. The shrine's 785-step stone stairway is itself a significant part of its charm.
