A must-see is the fossil of *Stegodon parastegodon*, which inhabited Mie Prefecture. *Stegodon parastegodon* is a type of elephant that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, approximately 1 million to 10,000 years ago. Numerous fossils have been discovered in Mie Prefecture. The museum features a life-sized skeletal model of *Stegodon parastegodon*, whose size and power are truly awe-inspiring.
The museum also offers comprehensive exhibits on Mie Prefecture's nature and history, covering various themes such as topography, geology, flora and fauna, history, and culture, allowing for a deeper understanding of the prefecture.
