The Tokugawa Art Museum houses a vast collection of art treasures with ties to the Tokugawa family. Among its approximately 10,000 pieces are invaluable items, including 9 National Treasures and 59 Important Cultural Properties, offering profound insights into the history and culture of the Tokugawa clan. In particular, the artifacts of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the daimyo (feudal lord) tools of the Owari Tokugawa family are precious resources for understanding the lives and culture of that era.
The museum grounds also feature a beautiful Japanese garden, where you can enjoy the scenery of each season. The garden is a condensed representation of traditional Japanese garden elements, including ponds, trees, and rock arrangements, allowing you to feel beauty within tranquility. There is also a tea room in the garden where you can immerse yourself in Japanese culture while enjoying tea.
