Shirayama Hime Jinja Shrine is located in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and is known as the center of the Shirayama faith. The Shirayama faith has long revered the sacred Mount Hakusan, and Shirayama Hime Jinja Shrine has played a central role in this faith. Mount Hakusan is one of Japan's three sacred mountains, and its majestic appearance has captivated people for centuries. The shrine's founding began in 717 AD (Yo-ro 1), when the Okumiya (inner shrine) was established on the summit of Mount Hakusan by Taicho Daishi. Afterwards, Shirayama Hime Jinja Shrine developed as a base for mountain worship of Mount Hakusan in Kaga Province (present-day Ishikawa Prefecture). The shrine is surrounded by ancient trees, creating a tranquil space for contemplation. It is also famous as a power spot, particularly known for its blessings of matchmaking, safe childbirth, and protection from evil.
