Minokura Kogen Flower Field in Kitakata City, Fukushima Prefecture, is one of the largest flower fields in Tohoku, boasting rapeseed flowers in spring and sunflowers blooming from summer to autumn. Located on a high plateau at an altitude of approximately 400 meters, it offers stunning views overlooking the Aizu Basin. In spring, approximately 500,000 rapeseed flowers paint the landscape a vibrant yellow. Visitors can enjoy picking rapeseed flowers and taking photos. Summer brings approximately 2.5 million sunflowers in full bloom, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Activities include a sunflower maze and sunflower art installations. Autumn offers a different kind of beauty with cosmos and buckwheat flowers. The area surrounding the flower field is well-equipped with walking paths, observation decks, cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops, ensuring a full day of enjoyment. Various seasonal events are held throughout the year. These include the Rapeseed Flower Festival in spring, the Sunflower Festa in summer, and the Cosmos Festival in autumn.
