Tachi-mata Gorge, located in Kitaakita City, Akita Prefecture, is famous for its beauty during the fresh green spring and the vibrant autumn foliage. Within the gorge are three magnificent waterfalls: Ichinotaki (38m drop), Ninotaki (20m drop), and the spectacular Kohei-taki (108m drop). Visitors can fully immerse themselves in the grandeur of nature. Kohei-taki, in particular, is breathtaking with its impressive 108-meter plunge, captivating all who witness its power. Well-maintained trails along the gorge offer opportunities for enjoyable trekking.
