Sori-no-taki Waterfall

Sori-no-taki Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall in Hachimantai, Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture, plunging approximately 25 meters. Located in Nakanozawa, a tributary of the Kumazawa River, its cascading water flows down a cliff face of columnar joints, showcasing the raw power of nature. Surrounding the waterfall is a beautiful beech forest, renowned for its autumn foliage. From early to mid-October, the area is enveloped in a breathtaking display of vibrant colors, creating a truly magical atmosphere. A 15-minute stroll along a scenic path from the parking lot takes you through a tunnel of autumn leaves. Various kinds of colorful trees line the path, making you feel like you're walking through a painting.
