INFO
It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the waterfall.
The forest road is narrow and the road surface isn't in the best condition, so please drive carefully.
While the mountain trail is well-maintained, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Shiraitono-taki Waterfall is a 30-meter-high waterfall located in Nishiwaga-cho, Iwate Prefecture. Situated at the foot of Goddess Mountain (956m), it's surrounded by numerous other waterfalls of varying sizes, including Uba-taki and Furu-taki. True to its name, Shiraito-taki (meaning "white thread waterfall") is a breathtaking sight, with water flowing down like a curtain of white silk. A well-maintained walking path allows visitors to approach the base of the waterfall, where the spray sometimes creates a miniature rainbow. The area also features a shrine dedicated to "Mitaki Fudo Myojin." Shiraito-taki offers beautiful scenery year-round, with vibrant greenery in spring and stunning autumn foliage. The fiery reds and yellows of the autumn leaves particularly enhance the waterfall's beauty. Shiraito-taki is a highly recommended sightseeing spot where you can experience the power and beauty of nature.
