Overview

Kuwano-ki Falls is a stunning waterfall located in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, and is proudly included in the list of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. Situated in the Kuwano-ki Valley, a tributary of the Takada River, it's surrounded by lush greenery. The 21-meter drop creates a breathtaking spectacle of cascading water and thunderous roar, leaving visitors awestruck. A well-maintained walking path makes it easy to enjoy a relaxing stroll. Walking along the path beside the clear stream, you'll be soothed by the rustling leaves and gentle sounds of the water, feeling the powerful presence of nature. Kuwano-ki Falls got its name from the abundance of mulberry trees (kuwa no ki) that once grew around the falls. The Takada River boasts around 20 other waterfalls, testament to the rich natural environment. A local legend tells of the *Amenouo* (a type of fish, *amago*) pleading to keep cormorants out of the river, highlighting the long-standing connection between the falls and the local people. Kuwano-ki Falls offers a tranquil escape nestled within nature. Why not immerse yourself in the majestic beauty and abundance of negative ions?
