Shiranoe Botanical Park is a municipal park located in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Development began in 1933, and it opened to the public as a private flower garden called "Shiki no Oka" (Four Seasons Hill). Kitakyushu City later acquired the facility, renovated it, and reopened it in April 1996 as the "Kitakyushu Municipal Shiranoe Botanical Park."
The park offers a delightful display of seasonal flowers, including cherry blossoms, azaleas, peonies, and autumn foliage.
It's particularly famous for its cherry blossoms. In spring, approximately 800 cherry trees burst into bloom, creating a spectacular sight.
The 400-year-old "Shiranoe Satozakura" cherry tree is designated as a Fukuoka Prefecture Natural Monument and is a truly impressive sight.
From the summit park, you can enjoy magnificent views of Kitakyushu City and the Kanmon Straits.
There are also aquatic plants and a moss path, offering a tranquil space to connect with nature.
Shiranoe Botanical Park is a highly recommended spot to enjoy beautiful scenery and connect with nature.
