Janohana: A Garden of Flowers and History, is a beautiful garden created at the end of the Meiji era by the wealthy Ito Ya-shi. It boasts an array of seasonal blooms, with the cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage being particularly spectacular, drawing many visitors. Within the garden sits the "Janohana Goten," a registered tangible cultural property of Japan, offering a glimpse into the past. Built as Ito Ya-shi's villa, the mansion is exquisitely crafted, featuring intricately carved gable ends on the entrance, stunning fusuma (sliding doors) paintings by Kano school artists, Hida Shuzan, Katsuda Shokin, and calligraphy by Ito Hirobumi, among other luxurious details. The garden also features a pond teeming with carp and goldfish, offering opportunities for aquatic wildlife observation. A well-maintained walking path encircles the pond, providing a pleasant stroll. Janohana: A Garden of Flowers and History is a captivating destination where you can immerse yourself in nature, history, and culture.
