Punyu Cape is a cape located 3.5 km east of Utoro Port on the northern coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, facing the Okhotsk Sea. It is one of the component assets of the World Heritage site "Shiretoko." As its name suggests, "Punyu," meaning 'a place with holes' in the Ainu language, the cliff-lined coastline is dotted with caves, creating a mystical landscape that draws visitors in.
