Overview

Ishizuchi Shrine Doyogo Yōhaiden is a remote worship hall of Ishizuchi Shrine, located in Wakayama, Kumakogen-cho, Kamiukena-gun, Ehime Prefecture. Situated at Doyogo, the end point of the Ishizuchi Skyline at an altitude of 1,500m, it's also known as the starting point for climbing Mount Ishizuchi. Mount Ishizuchi has been revered as a sacred mountain since ancient times, and Ishizuchi Shrine is located at its summit. Many climbers and tourists visit Doyogo Yōhaiden to pray for safe ascents of Mount Ishizuchi and as a base for visiting Ishizuchi Shrine. Doyogo Yōhaiden is an important base for Ishizuchi Shrine, with resident priests conducting monthly festivals, rituals, and ceremonies. Specifically, from April 1st to the end of November, priests are stationed there to accept prayer requests from those ascending the mountain.
