Sokuryo-yama Observatory is an observation deck in Muroran City, Hokkaido, providing a sweeping view of the city. From its 199m elevation, a magnificent panorama unfolds. On a clear day, you can even see as far as Mount Yotei, the distant Mount Komagatake, and Esan Misaki Cape. The view of Muroran city and the Hakuchou Bridge together is truly unparalleled. The cityscape, framed by the majestic Hakuchou Bridge, stretches out beneath you – a truly breathtaking sight. At night, the city lights twinkle beautifully, creating a romantic ambiance unlike the daytime view. Note that there are approximately 100 steps to climb to reach the observatory, so those with limited mobility should be aware. However, the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top is well worth the effort.
