Sobetsu Park offers breathtaking panoramic views of the majestic Lake Toya and the surrounding mountains.
Overview
Sobetsu Park is a scenic viewpoint located on the southern shore of Lake Toya, offering stunning views of the lake and its surroundings. From the park, you can see the beautiful cobalt blue of Lake Toya, as well as Mount Usu, Showa-Shinzan, and on a clear day, even Mount Yotei and the Niseko mountain range in the distance. In mid-May, approximately 300 Bun-go plum trees are in full bloom, making it a popular plum blossom viewing spot. Sobetsu Park allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons, with cherry blossoms and plum blossoms in spring, vibrant greenery in summer, autumn foliage painting the mountainsides, and stunning snowy landscapes in winter. The frozen lake adds a unique charm to the winter scene. Sobetsu Park is a highly recommended sightseeing spot where you can feel the power of nature.
