The Kinosaki Ropeway connects Kinosaki Onsen town in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, to the summit of Daishizan Mountain, offering a roughly 7-minute aerial journey.
The view from the ropeway is breathtaking, offering a panoramic vista of Kinosaki's cityscape sprawling below and the Sea of Japan beyond. The sunset views are particularly spectacular.
The summit features a cafe serving light meals and an observation deck where you can enjoy the scenery throughout the year. Spring boasts cherry blossoms, summer lush greenery, and autumn vibrant autumn leaves, making it beautiful year-round.
The midway station houses the Matsudaizan Onsenji Temple, the oldest temple in Tajima region, boasting a history of 1300 years, which is open for visitors. Historically, before bathing in Kinosaki Onsen, visitors were said to have first visited Onsenji Temple to receive a ladle and follow ancient bathing customs.
The Kinosaki Ropeway is a recommended sightseeing spot for discovering a new side of Kinosaki Onsen. Be sure to visit!
