Kusatsu Municipal Mizunomori Water Plant Park is a botanical garden located on the Karasuma Peninsula in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Opened in 1996 (Heisei 8), the park's theme is "Interaction between plants and people, and water and people." Spanning approximately 3.7 hectares, it features a rich display of aquatic plants, including lotuses and water lilies. Highlights include the Lotus Hall, showcasing over 150 varieties of water lilies—the largest collection in Japan—and the Sal Tree, a tropical plant with significant meaning in Buddhism. Enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year, from cherry blossoms in spring, lotuses and water lilies in summer, and autumn foliage. Well-maintained walking paths allow for leisurely strolls.
