The Numazu Port Large Observation Gate, "Byuo," was built as a countermeasure against tsunamis from the Tokai Earthquake. From the 30-meter-high (approximately 98 feet) observation facility, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Suruga Bay, Mount Fuji, and the cityscape of Numazu.
The sunset is particularly breathtaking, offering a stunning contrast between the orange sky and the sea.
At night, the gate is illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere quite different from the daytime view.
A trick art zone inside the building provides entertainment for both children and adults.
There are also exhibits that teach you about the history of Numazu Port and the mechanism of the gate itself, ensuring an engaging and informative visit.
"Byuo" is a captivating tourist spot you definitely shouldn't miss when visiting Numazu Port.
