Satta Pass is a mountain pass located in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Featured in "Yui," one of the stations along the 53 Stations of the Tokaido Road, this pass sits at the foot of a mountain extending into Suruga Bay and was once a challenging part of the Tokaido Road.
Although it's only 93 meters above sea level, its location facing Suruga Bay provides stunning panoramic views of both Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay.
In the past, the steep slopes and narrow pathways made it difficult for many travelers.
Today, well-maintained hiking trails allow for easy enjoyment of nature.
From the hiking trails, you can enjoy various landscapes, including Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, the Tokaido Main Line, National Route 1, and the Tomei Expressway.
Sunset is particularly spectacular, with Mount Fuji bathed in a crimson glow, creating a magical atmosphere.
At night, the trails of light from passing cars create a different, equally enchanting scene.
Satta Pass is a captivating tourist destination where you can simultaneously experience history, nature, and breathtaking views.
Nearby attractions include Yui Fishing Port, famous for sakura shrimp, and the historic Yui-juku post town.
Visit Satta Pass to experience its magnificent scenery and rich history.
