The Takemura Residence is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property located in Sakawa-cho, Kochi Prefecture. Built during the Edo period, it beautifully preserves the traditional architectural style of Tosa. In particular, the plastered walls finished with washi paper and the flower-shaped windows of the fushoma (a type of shoji screen) are unique architectural styles found only in Tosa, offering a glimpse into the lives of people from that era. The Takemura Residence is conveniently located in the center of Sakawa-cho, a 15-minute walk from Sakawa Station on the JR Dosan Line.
