Rengejiike Park, located in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a park themed around flowers, water, birds, and smiles. It's a beloved gathering place for many citizens throughout the year. At the heart of the park lies Rengejiike Pond, a landmark of the park. Originally constructed in 1613 (Keicho 18) as an irrigation pond, it's now home to various fish species, including Koi, crucian carp, bluegill, snakehead fish, and red-eared sliders. An orange walking path circles the pond, perfect for a leisurely stroll. In spring, the cherry blossoms and wisteria along the approximately 1.5-kilometer path around the pond come into full bloom. An annual wisteria festival is held during the wisteria's peak blooming season. The wisteria trellis stretches for 500 meters, with around 250 wisteria plants creating a breathtaking spectacle. Summer brings the lotus flowers, the namesake of the park, blooming beautifully on the pond (peak season: early July to early August). Autumn offers stunning autumn foliage, particularly around the jumbo slide on the northern hillside. Winter brings a serene atmosphere, with beautiful snow scenes. The park features amenities for all ages, including a jumbo slide, a children's playground, a Japanese garden, and an outdoor music hall. The jumbo slide, a roller-type slide with three lanes, is incredibly popular with children, often resulting in queues on weekends. The Japanese garden is a tranquil and beautiful space ideal for strolling and relaxation. The outdoor music hall, located in a valley in the western part of the park, features a stage approximately 15 meters wide. Usually quiet, it comes alive during events. Rengejiike Park is a nature-rich park offering year-round enjoyment. Be sure to visit!
