Yatsu Rose Garden is a municipal rose garden located in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture. Adjacent to Yatsuhigata (wetland), this approximately 12,600-square-meter garden boasts 7,500 rose bushes of about 800 varieties, planted around a central fountain.
Established in 1957 (Showa 32) as the Keisei Electric Railway's Yatsu Yuen Rose Garden, it came under the management of Narashino City in 1988 (Showa 63).
The garden features many renowned and historically significant varieties, including original species and cultivars, making it a haven for rose enthusiasts.
With photogenic spots like rose tunnels and the fountain, you can fully enjoy the charm of roses as you stroll through the garden.
The harmoniously blended landscape with the natural beauty of Yatsuhigata offers a tranquil escape from city life.
Next to the rose garden entrance stands a monument marking the "Birthplace of the Yomiuri Giants," attracting baseball fans as well. This monument commemorates the formation of an all-Japan team, primarily composed of Tokyo Six Universities players, in 1934 to compete against an American all-star team. This team eventually evolved into the Tokyo Giants (currently the Yomiuri Giants).
Yatsu Rose Garden is a recommended spot not only for rose lovers but also for those interested in nature and history.
