Hakkoda Snow Corridor

Hakkoda Mountains straddle Aomori and Akita prefectures. The Aspite Line, a roughly 27km-long drive way traversing the Hakkoda Mountains, is completely closed during winter (early November to mid-April). The snow walls created during snow removal are known as the "Snow Corridor" and present a stunning spectacle. The dynamic scenery, like a giant snow sculpture, is sure to captivate visitors. Especially around Golden Week, you can witness the magical sight of melting snow creating streams, allowing you to fully enjoy the majestic nature of the Hakkoda Mountains.
