Explore museums and restaurants nestled within a vast complex operated by Rokkatei, offering a delightful blend of nature and art.
Rokkatei Art Village Nakasatsunai Museum Village is a sprawling complex in Nakasatsunai Village, in Hokkaido's Tokachi region, operated by Rokkatei. Founded by Tetsuo Ishimi, the founder of Rokkatei, the village was built from a desire to pass on the rich natural beauty and culture of his Tokachi homeland to future generations. The grounds are dotted with unique museums, including the Aiara Kyuichiro Museum, the Koizumi Junsaku Museum, the Mano Masami Gallery, the Museum of the Northern Land, Gallery Berlin, and the Ogawa Yu Gallery. Each showcases artwork featuring Hokkaido landscapes and works themed around the nature and culture of Tokachi. The Museum Village Garden offers stunning seasonal blooms. From cherry blossoms and tulips in spring, to lavender and sunflowers in summer, and vibrant autumn foliage – the gardens are a feast for the eyes year-round. The "Poroshiri" restaurant serves meticulously prepared dishes using locally sourced ingredients. A shop selling Rokkatei confectionery and original goods is also available, perfect for souvenir shopping. Rokkatei Art Village Nakasatsunai Museum Village is a true haven, a place to immerse yourself in nature and art. We highly recommend a visit.
