Take the Hohi Main Line to Yufu-Taketa Station, then the Ono Taketa Bus (Tamaki-Taketa~Kujyu~Naoiri Branch Office Line) for 40-50 minutes. Get off at the Nagayu Bus Terminal. The bus travels via Oita Prefectural Road 47 (Taketa-Naoiri Line).
One bus runs per hour on weekdays, but service is reduced on Saturdays and Sundays. There are other routes with different destinations and community bus routes, but the operating days, travel times, and fares vary by route.
Alternatively, take the Taketa City community bus from Oita Station on the Niyodo Main Line. The journey takes 1 hour and 50 minutes to the Nagayu Bus Terminal. Only two round trips are available per day. This route also passes through Onoyado Station on the Kuju Line (55 minutes travel time).
You can also take the Yamabiko Express Bus (six round trips per day) operated by Kyushu Sankyo Bus and Oita Bus between Kumamoto and Oita. Get off at the Takeda Onsen Kasuigetsu stop (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Aso Kumamoto Airport) and transfer to a regular bus. Show route
