Kawaba Ski Resort is located on the southern slope of the Mount Kusatsu Shirane range at an elevation of 1,200m in Kawaba Village, Tone District, Gunma Prefecture. Its high altitude is known for producing high-quality snow, typically from late November to late April. The expansive slopes primarily feature long courses for intermediate and advanced skiers, including a 3,300m long cruising run. Beginner-friendly gentle slopes, mogul slopes, and a snow park cater to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The highlight of Kawaba Ski Resort is undoubtedly the breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Kusatsu Shirane range while you ski. On clear days, you can enjoy panoramic vistas. The resort is also surrounded by lush forests, offering opportunities for snowshoeing and snow hiking beyond skiing and snowboarding. As a day-trip-style ski resort, Kawaba Ski Resort doesn't have adjacent lodging facilities. This makes it easy to visit for a day. Access is convenient, approximately 17km from Numata IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway. Parking is free, and a free shuttle bus is available from the roadside station "Den'en Plaza Kawaba."
