Access: Public Transportation Take the free shuttle bus from Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the JR Joetsu Shinkansen and Joetsu Line. Approximately 20 minutes to Maiko Kogen Hotel and 30 minutes to the day-trip ski center. Car About 1 minute from the Shiozawa-Ishiuchi Interchange on the Kan-etsu Expressway. Show route

Fee: Lift ticket prices are ¥6,500 for adults (junior high school students and older), ¥4,000 for children (elementary school students), and free for infants (preschoolers). Discount tickets such as season tickets and multi-ride tickets are also available.

INFO: Parking is different for day-trip users and overnight guests. Day-trip users should use the gondola parking lot in front of the ski center. Route buses stop at both the Maiko Kogen Hotel and the gondola parking lot, so they can be used by both overnight and day-trip guests. (¥1,000 parking fee on Saturdays only)

Overview

Kandatsu Snow Resort is a conveniently located ski resort in Maiko, Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, situated right along the Kan-etsu Expressway. The slopes are divided into three areas—Maiko Area, Nagamine Area, and Okitochi Area—centered around the Maiko Gondola. It offers courses for skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from gentle slopes for beginners to challenging steep slopes for experts. The Maiko Area features lifts and courses centered around the Maiko Kogen Hotel, and also includes a snow park. The Nagamine Area features the exhilarating run from the top of the Maiko Gondola, offering a longest run of 6,000m down to the base. The Okitochi Area mainly features intermediate and advanced courses with stunning views, as well as ungroomed powder runs. Rest houses are scattered throughout the resort, both at the base and mid-mountain, providing ample opportunities for meals and breaks. There's a variety of accommodations available, including the Maiko Kogen Hotel and Maiko Kogen Lodge, catering to various needs. On-site hot spring facilities allow you to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes. Access is excellent, just about 1 minute from the Shiozawa-Ishiuchi Interchange on the Kan-etsu Expressway, making it easily accessible by car. It's perfectly enjoyable for a day trip, so be sure to visit!
