Overview

Hirakiki Shrine, located in Kaiun Jumachi, Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, has been deeply revered as Satsuma's foremost shrine since ancient times. While its founding date is unknown, shrine records say it was established in the mythical age. Hirakiki Shrine has been venerated as a protector of safe travels, navigation, and fishing.
