Overview
Uramimi-no-taki Waterfall is a spectacular 30-meter waterfall located in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. Known as "Uramimi-no-taki" (meaning "behind-the-view waterfall"), it allows visitors to experience the awe-inspiring power of the waterfall from behind, enjoying its powerful spray and the surrounding lush nature.
From early April to early May, approximately 6,000 rhododendrons explode with color, their vibrant pink blossoms and green leaves enhancing the waterfall's beauty. The peak rhododendron season is typically from mid-April to early May, coinciding with the "Shakunage Matsuri" (Rhododendron Festival). During the festival, the walkway behind the waterfall is open, allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers up close.
Cherry blossom season also offers a stunning spectacle, with the blossoms framing the waterfall. The cherry blossoms typically peak from late March to early April, and there are cherry tree lines nearby.
Uramimi-no-taki is easily accessible, with ample parking available. When visiting Nagasaki Prefecture, be sure to experience the grandeur of Uramimi-no-taki Waterfall.
