Tajimi City has long been known as a major tile-producing area, and the Mosaic Tile Museum is a facility that conveys its history and culture. Designed by the avant-garde architect Terunobu Fujimori, the building itself feels like stepping into a world of tiles. Inside, you'll find corners where you can learn about the history and manufacturing process of tiles, as well as exhibits showcasing various tile works. You can learn about everything tile-related: from the clay used as raw material to the manufacturing process and diverse expressive techniques using tiles. Workshops allow you to try creating your own original tile works; various workshops are held, including mosaic art and tile accessory making. It's a fun facility for all ages, so be sure to visit!
