Namishigure Sando-kasa

Namishigure Sando-kasa is a monument located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in Totoura-cho, Tottori Prefecture. Three figures of travelers wearing *sando-kasa* stand facing the turbulent waves. This monument was erected by local residents and is cherished as a regional symbol. The monument's concept is "Journeys are life itself." Each of the *sando-kasa*-clad travelers has a different expression, seemingly whispering their own travel stories. Their defiant stance against the raging waves is also said to symbolize the strength of humanity in the face of adversity.
