Overview

Kuzuryu Shrine Shinguu, located right next to the Hakone Shrine main hall, is a shrine dedicated to Kuzuryu O-kami, the guardian deity of Lake Ashi. While its founding date is unknown, it has been revered by locals for generations. The beautiful vermillion shrine harmonizes with the lush surrounding nature, captivating visitors. The dragon god is said to bestow various blessings, such as good business, financial luck, and successful romance, attracting many worshippers seeking to fulfill their wishes. Besides the shrine dedicated to the dragon god, the grounds also feature a Ryuujin-mizuya (dragon god water shed) and an Ema-den (votive picture hall). The Ryuujin-mizuya offers sacred water said to cleanse the body and mind. In the Ema-den, you can dedicate ema (votive plaques) with your wishes. Visiting Kuzuryu Shrine Shinguu together with Hakone Shrine is highly recommended. Hakone Shrine is right next to Kuzuryu Shrine Shinguu, and both are known as power spots. Hakone Shrine is believed to offer blessings for matchmaking and warding off evil. Consider visiting both Hakone Shrine and Kuzuryu Shrine Shinguu for a refreshing experience for your mind and body.
