Established in 1965 and achieving integrated steel production with the first blast furnace fired in 1968, Nippon Steel Corporation's East Japan Steel Works, Kimitsu District boasts top-class quality, facilities, and production volume in Japan. Spanning a vast area of 11,720,000 square meters (approximately 220 Tokyo Domes), its world-class technology produces materials used in a wide range of products supporting our daily lives, from automobiles and home appliances to building materials. The factory tour involves a microbus ride, visiting the rolling mill, plastic recycling facilities, and more. In some areas, you can get an up-close look at the steel manufacturing process. Guided explanations and video presentations provide insights into steel manufacturing and resource recycling. Experience the rarely seen world of a steel mill firsthand!
Train: Get off at JR Uchibo Line Kimitsu Station North Exit.
Bus: Take the Kimitsu City Loop Bus from Kimitsu Station North Exit and get off at the Nippon Steel Works bus stop.
Car: 3 minutes from the Kisarazu-Minami IC, National Route 16 exit, towards Futtsu Cape. Enter from the Nippon Steel East Gate. Show route
