Enjoy stunning views of Nagasaki Port and the city's nighttime cityscape from a barrier-free observation deck, about half the height of Inasa Mountain.
Nabekamuriyama Park boasts a spectacular observation deck offering panoramic views of Nagasaki city. Nabekamuriyama, meaning "Pot-Cover Mountain," at an elevation of 169 meters, is affectionately known as "Nabekaburiyama." The park's veranda-style observation deck, renovated in 2016, provides breathtaking views of Nagasaki Port and the city. Located at approximately half the height of Inasa Mountain (333 meters), it offers a more intimate and three-dimensional perspective of Nagasaki's cityscape, clearly revealing its distinctive bowl-shaped topography. From the observation deck, you can see the constituent assets of the World Heritage site, "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution," including the former Glover Residence and Gunkanjima (Battleship Island). Across the sea, you can also admire Inasa Mountain and watch large cruise ships entering the port under the Goddess Bridge. The park also features walking paths and open spaces, perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics. In the evening, enjoy a stunning nighttime view rivaling that of Inasa Mountain from the barrier-free observation deck. The 360-degree panoramic view of Nagasaki's cityscape at night offers a completely different charm than during the daytime. Nabekamuriyama Park is a symbolic landmark in Nagasaki, cherished by both tourists and locals alike. Be sure to visit when you're in Nagasaki.
