Awaji Hanasajiki is a park sprawling across a hilly area at an elevation of 298-235m in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Famous as a "sky flower garden," it offers stunning panoramic views of the Akashi Strait and Osaka Bay, along with a breathtaking display of seasonal flowers. In spring, visitors are greeted by a sea of rapeseed blossoms; summer brings vibrant sunflowers; autumn boasts vibrant cosmos, and each season offers its unique charm. Explore the vast grounds, take in the views from the observation deck, or capture memorable photos amidst the blossoms – there's something for everyone.
Established in April 1998 by Hyogo Prefecture, Awaji Hanasajiki initially featured flower fields cascading down the summit of northern Awaji Island's hills, at an altitude of 298-235m, gently sloping towards the sea. The panoramic view of the Akashi Strait and Osaka Bay, coupled with the ever-changing beauty of the seasonal flowers, creates a dreamlike landscape. This exceptional viewpoint, offering a stunning vista of a flower-covered carpet, was aptly named 'Awaji Hanasajiki'.
Awaji Hanasajiki offers free admission and ample parking, making it easily accessible. The surrounding area is also home to many restaurants serving Awaji Island specialties like Awaji Island burgers and onions, as well as souvenir shops. Be sure to stop by during your Awaji Island trip!
