Tsutenkaku Tower (Shinsekai) is a prominent landmark in Osaka's Naniwa Ward, representing the city's unique character. Born in 1912 (Meiji 45), this bustling and colorful district centers around the 103-meter-tall Tsutenkaku Tower. While the tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of Osaka, Shinsekai's charm extends far beyond its iconic structure. The surrounding area is brimming with restaurants serving Osaka's signature dishes, like kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) and takoyaki (octopus balls). Explore the retro atmosphere of Janjan Yokocho, a charming arcade street, and pay your respects to Billiken, the good luck charm statue at the base of the tower. Shinsekai offers a captivating blend of Osaka's vibrant energy and nostalgic charm. From the Tsutenkaku Tower observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city, taking in majestic sights like Osaka Castle and Ikoma Mountain during the day, and a dazzling nighttime panorama. Binoculars are available for a closer look at distant landmarks. The observation deck also houses souvenir shops and cafes for a relaxing break. Shinsekai is renowned for its rich culinary experiences. Numerous restaurants around the tower serve Osaka's soul food, including kushikatsu, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki. Kushikatsu is a Shinsekai staple, attracting countless visitors. Beyond kushikatsu, the area boasts a plethora of other Osaka culinary delights. Experience the vibrant energy and retro ambiance of Shinsekai – a must-visit destination during your Osaka trip.
