Overview

Takigawa Keikoku is a valley nestled in the abundant nature of Yamatsuri-machi, Higashi Shirakawa-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. It's a popular sightseeing spot where you can enjoy a refreshing walk surrounded by numerous waterfalls of varying sizes and abundant negative ions. The valley features eight sections, or "chome," each offering a unique and different view. Section one is at the valley entrance, with relatively gentle paths. From section two onwards, the paths become gradually steeper, and the number of waterfalls increases. Sections three and beyond offer increasingly challenging paths and more impressive waterfalls. A tea house is located at the summit, providing a place to rest and enjoy meals. The tea house offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire valley. Many people visit Takigawa Keikoku in the summer to escape the heat, and in the autumn to witness the beautiful fall foliage, making it a bustling tourist destination year-round. Well-maintained walking trails ensure safe exploration, however, some sections are steep, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended.
