Nagao Tsurugi Jinja Shrine, located in Shiranuhi-cho, Uki City, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a renowned tourist spot famous for its torii gate that appears to float on the sea. Founded in 713 (Wadō 6), it boasts a long and rich history. The enshrined deity is Watatsumi no Kami (god of the sea), believed to offer blessings for digestive health. The shrine's name originates from a legend where Watatsumi no Kami appeared on a large stingray, its tail resembling a sword, thus leading to the name "Nagao Tsurugi Jinja" (Nagao Sword Shrine).
