The Nakatsu City Obata Memorial Library was established in 1909 based on the last will and testament of Atojiro Obata. Atojiro Obata served as the second president of Keio University and was one of the co-authors of "Gakumon no Susume" (An Encouragement of Learning). The library houses a large collection of books and materials, including Atojiro Obata's personal collection. The library building itself is a beautiful example of modern architecture, providing a calm and peaceful atmosphere ideal for focused reading. The surrounding area boasts many historical sights, such as Nakatsu Castle and the old Nakatsu town, making it a perfect destination for those who want to immerse themselves in history and culture while enjoying a good read.
