The Toyota Kuragaike Memorial Museum opened in 1974 to commemorate the production of Toyota's 10 millionth vehicle. It offers a journey through the history of Toyota Motor Corporation, showcasing precious documents and vehicles that bring the evolution of Japan's automotive industry to life. Key exhibits include a timeline and photographs from Toyota's early days, vehicles such as the Toyoda AA and the Toyopet Crown (RS type), a 1/5 scale vehicle model, and dioramas depicting key scenes and the Koromo factory from the founding period. A 15-minute surround-sound film titled "Men Who Built a Rainbow: Kiichiro Toyoda and His Dream" is also shown. The museum also features a relocated and restored former residence of Kiichiro Toyoda, the founder of Toyota Motor Corporation. This beautiful blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles, originally built in 1933 in Nagoya's Nanzan area, was meticulously restored after its relocation. A new garage was added in March 2013, showcasing vehicles related to Kiichiro Toyoda. The Toyota Kuragaike Memorial Museum isn't just a place to learn about Toyota's history and technology; it's a chance to connect with the life of its founder, Kiichiro Toyoda, and gain a deep understanding of Japan's automotive industry development.
