Watarase Yusuichi is a vast flood control area spanning Tochigi, Gunma, and Saitama prefectures. Constructed in the early Showa period, its purpose was to regulate the flow of the Tone and Watarase Rivers. The expansive grounds boast abundant nature and a diverse array of flora and fauna. It's particularly renowned as a habitat for waterfowl, attracting numerous bird species during migratory seasons. The area features varied environments including wetlands, waterways, and grasslands, each supporting a unique ecosystem. Watarase Yusuichi is perfect for nature observation and recreation. Well-maintained cycling paths allow for leisurely exploration, while walking paths are ideal for walks and jogs. Birdwatching is highly recommended; bring binoculars to observe the waterfowl. Various seasonal events are held throughout the year. Spring brings cherry blossom festivals, transforming the area into a sea of pink. Summer offers firework displays illuminating the night sky. Autumn showcases a stunning display of autumn leaves. Winter features snow festivals with snow sculptures and ice carvings. Watarase Yusuichi offers a captivating blend of nature and culture.
