Taikodani Inari Shrine, located in Tsuwano town, Shimane Prefecture, is a historically significant shrine considered one of Japan's five great Inari shrines.
Its origins trace back to the Edo period when it was established by the Tsuwano lord, bringing a branch deity from Kyoto's Fushimi Inari-taisha. Since then, it has been revered as the guardian deity of the region.
The approach to the shrine is lined with hundreds of vermillion torii gates, creating a sacred and awe-inspiring atmosphere.
Situated on a hilltop, the approach offers spectacular views of Tsuwano town and the SL steam locomotives running on the Yamaguchi Line.
