Located near the hot spring source in Ikaho Onsen town, Kawakabashi Bridge is one of the symbolic landmarks of the area. Enjoy the fresh green of spring and the stunning autumn foliage. The quiet, red bridge is surrounded by maple trees, creating a picturesque scene. Especially during the autumn foliage season, the fiery red and yellow leaves create a magical atmosphere. From the bridge, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Ikaho Onsen town, experiencing the lively atmosphere while taking a leisurely stroll. Another charming feature is the scent of the hot springs, as the bridge is located near the source. Why not stop by during your exploration of the onsen town and enjoy the beautiful scenery throughout the seasons?
The name Kawakabashi (literally "Deer Frog Bridge") is said to originate from the many deer frogs that once inhabited the area. Deer frogs are a type of frog whose croaking sounds similar to that of a deer. While it's difficult to see deer frogs today, imagining their presence adds to the charm of the place.
Kawakabashi Bridge is not only a symbolic landmark of Ikaho Onsen town but also a place where you can enjoy the beauty of nature throughout the year. Take your time to enjoy the view while strolling through the onsen town.
