A transportation park built on the former Hiroo Line. Experience the nostalgic atmosphere with preserved station buildings, platforms, and rails.
Koufuku Station, located in Obihiro City, Hokkaido, was once a station on the JR Hiroo Line. After the line's closure, it was developed into a transportation park. The Hiroo Line, which opened in 1956 and closed in 1987, was known for Koufuku Station, a place believed to bring good fortune, as its name literally means "Happiness Station." The park preserves the station building, platform, and rails, offering a nostalgic experience. A Kiha 22-series diesel railcar and a motorcar are also statically displayed, making it a fun spot for railway enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The original station building was demolished due to aging, but in 2013, a replica was built using half of the old station's exterior walls. This new building faithfully recreates the atmosphere of the original, attracting numerous tourists. Even after the closure of the Hiroo Line, Koufuku Station remains a popular tourist spot, allowing visitors to experience the history of the line and enjoy the preserved buildings, platform, and rails. The static displays of the Kiha 22-series diesel railcar and motorcar are also highlights.
