Ippeki-ko is a crater lake located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, formed by volcanic activity around 100,000 years ago. The lake's surface reflects the surrounding mountains, greenery, and sky, enchanting all who visit. The autumn foliage is particularly breathtaking, with vibrant red trees painting the lake in stunning colors. Rare plants thrive along the lake's edge, including a population of Chojisou (Gentiana scabra) said to be the only naturally occurring one in the prefecture.
