Overview

Inatori Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Higashiizu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture. Situated almost in the center of the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, it boasts excellent access to both Shimoda in the south and Ito in the north. Inatori Onsen has a long history, with records indicating its use as a hot spring dating back to the Edo period. Today, it features approximately 30 Ryokans (traditional Japanese Inns) and hotels, attracting numerous tourists. The highlight of Inatori Onsen is undoubtedly the magnificent view of Izu Oshima Island. The sunset viewed from the open-air baths is particularly spectacular, captivating many visitors. A variety of hot spring qualities are available, including chloride springs, hydrogencarbonate springs, and sulfate springs, each offering unique therapeutic benefits. These springs are expected to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, cold sensitivity, fatigue recovery, and health promotion. Inatori Onsen also hosts various events throughout the year. In spring, the "Hina no Tsurushi Kazari Matsuri" (Hanging Doll Festival) showcases colorful hanging dolls adorning the town. Summer offers swimming and firework displays, autumn features susuki (pampas grass) and moon viewing, and winter brings the Kawazu cherry blossoms, providing seasonal enjoyment.
