Matsuo Shrine is a historic shrine with roots stretching back to the Heian period, located in Machii, Shika Town, Hakui District, Ishikawa Prefecture. Legend says it was established in 834 (during the Jōwa era) with a deity enshrined from Matsuo Shrine in Yamashiro Province. The enshrined deities are Ōyamagui no Mikoto and Tamayorihime no Mikoto.
